Description
The brothers Stefano and Ivano Crosariol run the farm “La Baratta”, started by their family in the ’30s, first in sharecropping and then in property. The area planted with vines is more than 20 hectares, cultivated with ORGANIC AGRICULTURE methods, bearing witness to the values of environmental protection to which the family has always been attached. The name LA BARATTA probably originates from the fact that that area of forest was the object of an exchange (barter) between the Republic of Venice, which owned all the forests that stretched from the sea to the mountains, and some noble Venetian family that had rendered services to the Serenissima. Notoriously at “Baratta” were always produced wines of recognized quality, as the soils in that area are particularly rich in calcareous clays.
