AROMATIC TRAMINER vine

This vine is part of the aromatic grape variety and takes its name from the municipality of Termeno, Alto Adige, where historically this grape is widely cultivated and where many historical documents date its origin to the end of ‘400. Not many people know that at least two types of Traminer are known: the aromatic one, also called Gewürztraminer or Termeno Aromatico, and the Red Traminer which has a slight reddish pigment on the skin of the grape and no aromatic flavours. This second type is certainly the least known and widespread because the wide success of the “older brother” has clouded not to say destroyed the spread being now the main vine of South Tyrol, the hills of Trentino and with a good vineyard area also in Friuli.

AROMATIC TRAMINER WINE

Vinified only in steel vats, the wine has an intense straw yellow colour and body that instantly confirms its characteristic aromaticity, which expresses well on the nose with notes of rose water, white flowers and citrus. On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, warm, fat and sapid, it is a persistent wine that often has a slightly bitter finish.
